ART 210: Logo Critique (Part 2)

Ferrari's logo is eerily similar to Porsche with both car companies sporting a horse at the center of the logo. I believe the three colors green, red and white are a representation of the Italian national flag as Ferrari is an Italian based car company. The initials of S.F. is a nice touch , short for Scuderia Ferrarri which is the oldest surviving formula one team which boasts Ferrari's dominance over years. The hopping horse is the sign of the famous jet fighter count Francesco Baracca who was a national hero and legendary fighter connotes the presence of power. People nowadays feel a since of speed and power  when in contact with the logo. The font is very stylish and the gloss on the horse highlights the luxurious brand features of the manufacturer.

Conclusion

After careful analysis based on their logos it was felt that Porsche's logo had more of a grandeur and luxurious feel to it. It has the shimmer of gold and a shape that simply looks excellent. The logo instantly leaves people with the sheer thought of excellence and of course cost. What's interesting is that not only are cars made by Ferrari more powerful than Porsche but they are also miles more expensive.
